Chapter 3 The Silver Gateway

The Silver Gateway, built before the times of T1 series technology. The Gateway uses enormous amount of energy to fold space. But the problem you must enter the location of another gate to come out. If entered without proper calculation of the other gate there is no way of telling where you might come out. The technology was built by the Kayteens and charged chunks of cash for passing through before Alliance scientist ended their dominance with the T1 series technology.
The T1 series technology belt by Professor Terdevoul Hansen. The basic Idea is instead of having both gates of both sides of the subspace, you have a computer that follows his algorithm calculating from where to inter and where to exit and leave the computer to make the pretty complicated computational method and adjust accordingly in real time if the variables change such as ships weight speed rate of turning and other things. Which makes this task impossible to almost all species including humans and very difficult to cyborgs with super artificial brain enhancers.
“So why are we here any way” Leo asked the question fearing the answer “we are going to go through it” Jack calmly replies through the COM unit, Leo looks at Big Dog “how are you going to go through it with no gate on the other side to open?” Big Dog answered while turning on the T1 generator “we don’t need a gate” he calmly replies “your so calm it's like you did this before” Leo trying to assure himself “No” Big Dog says, he takes a breath and continues “what we are about to attempt is theoretically impossible. But I heard about guy who they say did it” Leo started sweating “what are we going to do and who is this guy who done it” Big Dog started to get pretty annoyed with Leo “Jack is going to toe us through hyperspace manually you fool. And the guy who did it was killed doing so” not liking what he just heard Leo started to pray, he started to count all his wrongs and sins through life. And it was a very long list.
Jack attached the fighter upside down underneath the Dog Pound, OBC relayed the computer coordinates to his screen. “Jack” Big Dog calls “ you have to stay no more or less than four degrees of the constantly changing heading you see” Jack thinks “ so if there is a quick turn?” Big Dog answered “That will spill my coffee you Moran, now give a minute to use what's left of the ships power to activate the gate” spill my coffee is the term Big Dog used to describe that will kill us, Leo asked “what makes you think the gate still has power to function” by that time Big Dog had enough of Jack and Leo he quickly pulled out his side arm and slammed it on the control panel in front of him and looked at Leo and said while grinding his teeth “its self sufficient” Leo backed away and tied his seat belts as tight as he can and continued praying. The radar started to beep signaling an approaching vessel, it was an Alliance destroyer quickly heading there way, Jack knows that in seconds they will be in there targeting range but he was more afraid of what Big Dog might do to him then the Alliance if they caught him. The circle shape gate illuminate a very beautiful and bright silver color signaling it's ready to be used. Jack quickly fires up the thrusters OBC warned “warning we are in locking range of a class destroyer Alliance ship” Jack replied “Not for long baby”
Big Dog sat let a cigar and started to smoke, Leo shouted “how can you be calm in a time like that” Big Dog softly replied “shut up you fool. Jack needs to concentrate on this. Keeping the ship within four degrees of the rapidly changing numbers you see in front of you is impossible. Not even the most powerful on board A.I. can do that” he looks ahead as the ship vigorously shake and rattle all around “you distract him now we die” Big Dog said blowing smoke. Jack doing his best in holding them on course, he quickly recalibrates the thrusters, turns the rudders open the flaps and closes them, at this amazing speed they are traveling in he moves just as fast, it's his life he is risking and it’s the only one he has at the moment.
Jack wakes up to the sun on his face, a cool breeze passes by the smell of sea water in the background and the look Big Dogs face finishing his cigar with a smile “wake up we are here” Big Dog informs, Jack slowly got up and sow OBC and the Dog Pound with smoke rising from them result of the speed. He looks around and sees Leo his face all read throwing his guts out in the corner, Jack looked around and saw busy traffic of transports coming in and out of the planet. He looked up at Big Dog “bumpy ride boss” Jack asked, Big Dog answered back “you passed out right before entering the planet, gave quite a scare to our friend over there. Jack smiled “so did he tell us why we are here” Big Dog looked at Leo and said “as soon as he is done”. Finally Leo approaches Jack and Big Dog and gives them the assignment. “Your job is to bring in Ambuto hand him over to me”, Jack looked at Big Dog “Boss, are you hearing this right. Kencade want us to take down the biggest arms dealer around here” Big Dog replied to Leo “ No bounty hunter in his right mind would attempt that” Leo said looking at both of them “apparently that’s why Kencade picked you two bone heads for the job” he turned around and said as he was walking away "There is a bar very close, The Marian, I'll be waiting there
Ambuto from the alien race of the Busha'ar, they make their living selling weapons to both side of any armed conflict. Ambuto is known to provide everything from High end Mega Battle stars to cheep body armor for the right price, and usually that’s very high.
Inside the Dog Pound Big Dog is reading his weapons from the small armory on board, Jack on the other hands expresses his concerns "Boss, you're not serious in going after Ambuto? I mean we are small time hunters". Jack was concerned with the way Big Dog was acting, when they decided to go in the hunter business, they agreed to go after easy hunts only. Big Dog looked at Jack while loading bullets in his side arm "Maybe it's time for us to join the big league" Jack didn’t like his answer he pressed on "Big Dog, we can't just walk in and just drag Ambuto back to Kencade" Big Dog smiled and replied "we are going to do just that. Besides we need his black address book" Jack said "Girls?" Big Dog said "Clients, dates and locations. Remember the Amarian Princess? Whoever nabbed her defiantly used equipment only he can supply" the thought of that reward the rich Amarian King came to Jacks mind and suddenly all his worries disappeared. "Okay Boss, I'm with you on this one. Hand one of those guns there" the old man turns to him "no guns for you, that’s the plan" Jack shouted "UNARMED"
That night in the middle of town a very well known night club where Ambuto is seen doing business, Jack manages to enter alone. Unarmed he walks to the bar and asks the barkeep. "I'm looking to shop not to drink" the barkeep points to a door guarded by a few very large unknown alien species. Jack walks to them they search him and let him pass. Second floor of the club covered entirely with bullet proof tainted glass. "Here expecting you" Ambuto shouted, Jack was surprised that Ambuto knew who he was, and worried that he is going to die. Jack sat in a chair opposite to him "Jack Reamo" Jack replied "General Ambuto you know me?" Ambuto replied "yes, but I won't remember you for long" a young lady to them and sat at the table. Jack recognized her "you set me in Amaria, there were people shooting at me" she replied "well that’s behind us now I didn’t think you'll make it but here you are" she turns to Ambuto "okay it seems that the merchandise is intact and this sucker is an added bonus" Ambuto had a thing for torture and to him Jack is in the right place in the right time. "mur mur" Ambuto says as someone approaches with a fizzing drink to him. The Girl picks up a case was next to her and leaves. A large alien quickly holds Jacks hand on the table "mur mur, I finish drink you lose fingers. Tell me where stuff is I kill you quickly" the person puts the drink on the table "mur mur, thank you old man you new take care of me I tip you good" the old man pulls a gun to Ambutos head and says "better pay up now than before I take care of you" Jack was really happy to hear the sweet voice Big Dog posing as a night club waiter. Outside the girl walks slowly to a parked transport, the door opens for her as she approaches. "Did Ambuto pay you my love" the man in the driver seat asks "Yes" he turns to her "good work" as he finished this sentence a large explosion was heard "I see you planted the bomb" she says "No you ordered me not to" she turns around and sees the burning night club and the sound of gunfire every coming out of the burning building "It seems I underestimated the ability of this bounty hunter" she looked up in the sky and could clearly see Alliance battle groups in formation in the sky. "Let's go now things are going to get sticky real soon" she jumps in the small transport and flies away.
High above in the sky four Alliance class two heave destroyers a detachment from the Wolf-Fang battle group noticed the commotion below. Commander Nesta orders his lieutenants to monitor the situation below. "Commander" a lieutenant reports "we just received word from the province director, a turf war just erupted between rival gangs. He also reports a known gun smuggler was spotted in the region" Nesta replies to the lieutenant "order the director to stand down, its Alliance business from now on. Order a strike force down below and board any ship leaving the planet".
In a dark alley behind the burning night club three men running away, two of them dragging the third are pursued by Ambuto's bodyguards. Hiding behind a big dumpster from the barrage of flying bullets Big Dog shouts at Jack "You didn’t have to start a war" Jack shouts back "He was going to cut off my fingers, and I happen to love my fingers" Big Dog shouts back "your mess, you clean it up" Big Dog drags the scared Ambuto and runs off while leaving Jack to cover their behind. The scared Ambuto shouts "crazy, crazy, no mind. I pay double bounty, triple bounty let Ambuto go" Big Dog points his gun to Ambutos very big head "Not NOW, just shut up and run or you'll get us both killed" a few back behind the dumpster Jack returns fire at the body guards, he gave time for Big Boss and Ambuto to get away and then lead them in another direction, well that was the plan. Jack was just about to turn the other way when shots from above held back from going his way, he quickly looked up and sow Alliance commandos equipped with jet packs descending down on him. Jack quickly revise his plan, under heavy fire from above he jumps on the dumpster and using a nearby fire escape he quickly climbs up to the first floor and jumps intercepting the first of the descending Alliance commandos. He disarms him and pushes the power button on his arm to increase the jet packs power to send them flying back up. Kicking and biting in the air Jack jumps off just as he reaches the top of the building stealing his side arm, ammo, COM unit and jet pack controls leaving the commandos jet pack on high power flying him away. He quickly equips the COM unit and runs of jumping from one roof top to another followed by flying Alliance commandos, just as they were about to catch he slips down a ventilation shaft of an abandon building he used his feet, hands and side arm to hold himself upside down till he managed to jump out from an opening on to one of the floors, he sat down to rest and listened to Alliance communication. "Alliance command, request strike on sector echo tango Charlie lima zero niner" and the confirmation came back "confirmation destroyer laser cannons on structure sector echo tango Charlie lima zero niner is a go in nine seconds" for a minute there Jack felt sorry for the poor guy they will strike until he realized it was him. He jumps up and runs as fast as he can towards a window picking up a cat on the way, he jumps out just as the laser cannons hit the building making it crumble down on its self not affecting surrounding buildings. He breaks throw a window in the building next door falling on a bed. He looks around and finds a young man surprised standing in front of him, he comes to Jacks aid and happily shouts "God have answered my prayers, god have answered my prayers." Jack cleans himself from broken glass and asks "what prayer exactly did god answer for you" the young man quickly replies "I have prayed god for a man and there you are on my bed" Jack thinks for a while and hands over the cat to him "Mr. Jinks is the perfect man" and leaves the apartment.
A few hours later, just before dawn. Big Dog and Ambuto reaches the docks, Leo was already waiting for them. You can hear gunfire from the raging battle in the distance and visibly see one destroyer giving support to its troops on the ground using its laser cannons. "Where is that other bone" Leo asks Big Dog turns and looks behind and sees Jack tired and dirty just arriving to their location. "what the delay" Big Dog asks Jack "I meet someone but was not ready to commit". Big Dog hands over Ambuto to Leo just as Leo transfers the funds to Big Dog. Ambuto turns to Jack and says "Stupid brain, I leave lawyer help me before in cage. Mur Mur" Leo laughs and says "It's great doing business with you two bone heads, have a nice what's left of your life" and left followed with Kencades men. Jacks asks "what the hell is mur mur any way" Big Dog answers "something about your mother being so fat" Ambuto had a very strange humor.
"So where too" Jack asks "Dresden" Big Dog answers "its very far and under Kayteen administration" Big Dog answers lighting a cigar "there is one shipment of weapons going to Amaria in Ambutos electronic address book, and six of the same shipment coming of the planet, and one same shipment just left for Dresden" Jack replies "I hate swimming" then they both look up to the sky as first light starts to light up the sky clearly unveiling three class two destroyers firing at unarmed transports refusing to stop "what about the Alliance" Jacks asks Big Dog does not answers and enjoys his cigar. Jack new that Big Dog is planning to take down the destroyers but how?
